Have you ever put yourself in the shoes of a porn star and imagine for a second, the finger pointing, soul searching and churnful of opinions which is the baggage that comes along with it?

I first learnt of Annabel Chong during JC 1, and that in a very judgemental piece of journalistic work from The Newpaper (a daily waste of my $0.60)... I was amazed... motivated... and filled with laughter and admiration for her wit. Those twisted, bitter and not too apolegetic takes on numerous issues had left me in stitches back then. Here are a few of her better spoutings (not those kind after a blowjob!):

"'Who am I?’ is a question I constantly ask myself. It’s rather mortifying to look back and think to myself, oh my god, was I that vulnerable? But maybe I was." -- Annabel in a college essay

"Nobody ever does anything for any single motivation... . I felt that I was nothing but a statistic." -- reflecting on her gang-rape

"I looked back on my entire life in Singapore and realised that all my life I had been processed. I led the perfect life. I went to all the right schools, I attended the right social functions, hung out in the country club, went to church, got the humanities scholarship. I was the perfect child, but none of it was really my choice." -- a patriotic Annabel on Motherland

"Well, if I was a bloke, I wouldn’t want all that frizzy hair crackling all over my blow-job. It just seems rather intimidating. It’s like being blown by a hedgehog. I don’t think it’s very aesthetic." -- another haha from the ger who put the Sin into Singapore

"Men have to have jerk off somehow. They need to have a wank over some images of people getting it on. They’re just going to buy whatever’s out there." -- Annabel on the adult video industry

"I have been a porn consumer for years, and proud to be one. I think a lot of things are more obscene than the average porn film. Like ‘Patch Adams’, the Robin Williams film. I think that’s incredibly obscene – it’s like total emotional pornography." -- her discerning taste on celluloid culture

And finally to all the bra burning grrrlllss... here's one for you!

"All these guys have been writing in wanting to have sex with me, and if that’s not an ego trip I don’t know what is"

--- Annabel Chong
